WELCOME!

The "Up On The Monster" website was created and officially launched September 18, 2005. It was created with the intent of allowing the membership of it's accompanying message board an opportunity to take part in its design and content. Hence our slogan: A Red Sox fan site created by real Red Sox fans!

So far the membership has contributed in a variety of areas. Members have written guest columns and offered their own pictures of the Red Sox and their trips to Fenway Park and locations all around MLB for display. Additionally, membership has let the website creators know what they like about the site and what could be changed to enhance the experience.

The website has focused on bringing Red Sox fans a vast and orderly lineup of information on the team. Links to any and all media outlets that write about or cover the Red Sox are available. We also have developed relationships with other Red Sox fan sites and Blogs in the hopes of supplying our membership and readers with as many different points of view as possible on the team. The website also supplies links to all of the Red Sox minor League affiliates so the future of the team can be monitored and discussed. In connection, links to some of the best outlets who cover the minor leagues and draft prospects are available. You will also find interviews with Red Sox personalities from the past present and future as well as a few interviews with personalities in and around the game of baseball

The message board is home to some of the most knowledgeable fans in Red Sox Nation. No matter the topic of discussion these fans have an incredible amount of insight into what takes place on and off the field. A number of members have shown an incredible knowledge of statistics and how they are broken down. Several deliver great insight into the breakdown of the team with a keen scout's eye. Others have provided great first hand account the Red Sox farm system and attend minor league games on a regular basis. And if you appear a little hazy on how free agency, arbitration, draft compensation, etc works... That's right, this membership has the knowledge and understanding to help anyone better understand how it all works.

Moving into the future "Up On The Monster" will look to not only stay and build on our current course, but look for creative ways for our membership to contribute towards our journey in cyberspace. We look forward to many new members and readers who will help shape the website and message board into a popular destination for Red Sox fans in cyberspace.
